The Roundup is a weekend recovery conference hosted by the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered (LGBT) members of various 12-step fellowships from the Denver/Boulder area. During the conference, there are workshops, meetings, fellowship and social activities which are intended, not only to carry the messages of recovery, but also to convey the spirit of joy, friendship, experience, strength and hope among those who share our special interest. It is open to all people. -------------------- Some of our workshop topics:
-------------------- Speaker Profiles: Starkey: My sobriety date is 12/12/1989 I started going to AA in the penitentiary. I was doing a 20 yr sentence. I started out trying to prove this didn't work...No one is anymore surprised than I am that it does work. I now have a Transitional house to help other women that are getting out of prison and want to stay sober. Anne M. Anne considers herself to be one of the luckiest people around . A high school teacher took her to her first young people’s AA meeting at 16, and she was blessed to hit bottom early and quit drinking one month after she turned 17, in December of 1976. Since that time, she has been an active member of AA, which has served as the foundation to a successful life. Anne a self-employed consultant attends meetings regularly in and out of town. She sponsors five people, is married to “The Divine Miss Em” who has 18 years of sobriety and is also very active in 12 step work. Don N. I got sober in Los Angeles Skid row in the hot summer of 1979. After 28 years of serious decline and degradation. I do H&I, sponsor a host of people and attend meetings every week. I love Ms. Big Book and Ms. 12 &12. I am 85% happy and always glad to be alive in AA.
